Before buying new motorcycle I decided to ride Royal Enfield Himalayan by myself.
So I called to Gangnam-gu district Royal Enfield dealer first as the location of their shop is close to Seongnam city where I live.

Here stuff speaks in English and you can meet here foreign customers, expats who live in Seoul area and own motorcycles especially Royal Enfields often service their motorcycles here.
Owner pointed on his own bad ass looking Himalayan with pink Barkbusters handguards and said: “We give for ride our own bikes, and this one is mine, we don’t limit you by riding time. Ride it, feel it and then return it to us”. This bike has 14 teeth sprocket and owner is experienced offroad rider used this Himalayan for its genuine purpose or even harder.
14th teeth sprocket gave me very confusing feelings because it could hardly reach 100kmh and had a lot of low speed torque. My goal was to understand does Royal Enfield Himalayan is fast enough. Even if motorcycle has utilitarian purpose IMHO it should be fun to ride.
So I called to another Royal Enfield Store close to Seoul. Which turned out to be main headquarters who supply stores in Korea with RE motorcycles. Store is located in Hanam-city.
Consultant was very clear with demands for having test ride in their shop. As I’m foreigner he said that I need ID issued by Korean Immigration center and foreign passport.
I started engine on my Yamaha MT-03 and headed to Hanam city

This building is huge! I was invited on the second deck where they have motorcycles and RE apparel as well as custom made Interceptor 650 scrambler. I was so impressed that I forgot to make a single photo inside.
They asked me to fill form and put my sign under terms of agreement and let me chose the bike with or without panniers fully in stock no changes applied and only 2000km on ODO.
I rode it…
After riding Himalayan I had a mixed feeling, because after speedboat Yamaha MT-03, Royal Enfield Himalayan seemed like sailboat with diesel engine.
Time to think and decide.
If you are in Seoul I would definitely recommend go directly to headquarters in Hanam city for proper test run. Some managers speak a little in English.
